Wire Positve or negative

Which wire is positve the plain or the striped one? Thank you I am installing speakers and the do not read negative or positve.

Depends on what you are working with. You'll have to proivide us with a little more information like vehicle make, model, year and/or component model numbers, etc.

In theory, for each 6 dB per octave filter applied to a speaker, the speaker will be 90º out of phase from the original signal. Using a 12 dB per octave filter (crossover) will cause the speaker to be 180º  out of phase with one with no filter applied. In this case, you would want to wire these speakers electrically out of phase with the others if no filters are applied to them for all speakers to be mechanically in phase*. There are obviously more factors involved that contribute to speakers being mechanically in phase, and in some cases it may not be possible, especially in an automobile, however an experienced ear is the best tool for obtaining the best results.
