Recently installed a Navigation system in tha 2001 maxima, i just wanted to note that the VSS wire listed was incorrect in my scenario. It was a RED wire right next to the tach wire that is WHITE/ Green. behind the Inst. Panel on the white connector. I called alpine and they also gave me the wrong wire. So test it out before you guys install it! Thanks...

You mean that it's not the PINK/BLUE wire located on the rear of the instrument cluster in the 20 pin brown plug ? Thanks for the infor Melvin, time to document this in the black book of installations 2001 Maxima Navigation System VSS -- posted image.

Thats right Jeff, the VSS on the database is white green off the ECM and the VSS from Alpine Tech support was pink/blue fromt he I/P. So anyways thats what it is and the new alpine system works really really well its not out yet but it should be coming out soon.
