I just finished installing my system in my new truck. I have a 50x4 at 4 ohm amp, a 200x1 at 2 for my 12" he2. Its load at hell and sound good except i'm getting some bad response between 2k and 5k - somewhat distored. I turned down the freqs on my eq but then the musis sound dead in the middle. I have 6.5 pionners in the front and 4x6 factorys in back. What would be some good speakers to replace those? Thanks

I went from Pioneer to Infinity Kappa and was extremely impressed. Their Reference line is ok from what I've heard, Kappa's are the mid line series, and Kappa Perfect are the high end "top of the line" for Infinity.
You could also look into MB Quart or Focal for some other good choices

I would suggest you take a look at MB Quart http://www.mbquart.com/2003/en_US/products/prodline.asp?line=car

Look on line. Most of the sites will tell you authorized retailers. But as far as "at cost", you'll probably have to go unauthorized internet dealers w/o the factory warranty

i just made a switch from pioneer 61/2's to infinity kappa 61/2's a couple days ago and i have to say as good as the pioneers sounded, those infinity kappas are just incredible!  it did seem, also, that the pioneers had a bit of a weak spot at about the 6k mark.  (just an estimate)  wherever it was, it sounds a lot better now.  and the infinity highs are so much crisper.  an awesome difference all around.  so, in case you wanted a second opinion.....
oh, god... what did i do now??
