Are these good amps? I got a Clarion 481Q 480W amp off eBay this weekend for a really good price. Is this Clarion good enough to run my 4 Infinity speakers nice and clean? I know it has plenty of power. I was thinking of getting a MTX amp to power 2 - 12.1 Perfect Infinity woofers. Is this a good choice? I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of money. I'm putting together my system this week. I'm building around my new Panasonc CQ-VAD7300U in dash DVD unit.

I meant Coustic amps, not Clarion. I will now have a Coustic 481QE> http://coustic.com/products/amplifiers/481QE.cfm Please tell me about it.

I actually see MTX as a really good quality amp. They have wattage/power certificates and they are rated at their true RMS. You can usually go 2X the rated watts at 4ohms is what I've read. Solid.

a clarion amp would be better than a coustic, coustic is a low end mtx brand, like lightening audio is to rockford crapsgate.

the coustic will run your full range inifity's,  don't bridge it and the eq/crossovers on the amp off and it will be alot better, let a processor handle that or if you have to the deck.

my manager has gone through two sets of perfect 12.1's on an mtx 8100d so don't feed them too much power cause they can't take it.  but do get an mtx amp for the sub's they've got the most power for the price and durability in my opinion.  i'd say thunder801d would work pretty well.

clarion stuff is usually pretty decent, i.e. head units
