[QUOTE=10nesne1]which company are you working for? the company is liable for all the damages. It shouldn't cost you anything.
Installed lot of RS in Toyota and never have this problem. Most dealership doesn't know what they are talking about. When you have a chance double check your installation again to find you error on wiring.

I work on a percentage as most installers do: 46% or labour + 2% if i have no damages, which i might lose if they find something I did wrong. I did go over the install for about 2 hours making sure i didn't cut into any wires when i was opening up harnesses or something like that.

are you sure you didn't knock the keys out of the system.  I have seen this happen on certain Toyotas.  I have been doing remote stars for one of the toyota dealers here in Edmonton for 2 years now and have never had anything like that happen.

As far as tach goes I always grab the injectors on the Toyotas and never have any come backs for no starts when it is cold.

I aways use the viper 555F on the Camary.

That is what i thought the problem was, i've seen that on a few fords(mostly escapes). The dealer is the one who is telling me the ring is shot... i don't know what to think. If you've seen toyotas that lose their keys then maybe thats what happened and the dealer has diagnosed the problem incorrectly?

If your installing dei then you have a lot better tach pickup than i have to work with. I wish i was still installing that stuff sometimes. On a matrix, vibe or corolla, they always come back if i go to an injector.

ouch!!!!!!that sucks.!!! never had/heard that happening before when using the factory key. but i have heard of that happening when an installer (from another bay/store) tried to program a 555f to a 2000 avalon. what really sucks is that it cost $2600 to fix! why so much? well, the dealership said that the avalon comes equipped with only THREE KEYS programmed to the computer of the car. when he programmed the 555f incorrectly, he locked up/wiped out the entire code for the computer. therefore, the dealership said that they needed 3 new keys and a new computer to install into the avalon. the dealership led us to believe that all toyotas with transponders are all like the avalon---3keys to 1computer and unable to re-program them. i hope that's not your case! good luck!04 Camry Transponder Ring - Page 2 - Last Post -- posted image.
