keyless entry installation 2003 ford f350

Iam trying to install a code systems keyless entry in my 2003 ford f350 crewcab. I have everything wired and working except the door locks. I found the correct color wires in the truck but i dont know the correct way to wire to them. My keyless entry has a wire for each of these. door lock,door unlock,drivers door unlock. when i wire them to the coresponding wire on the truck for each action it just blows the fuse in the keyless entry system.What ami doing wrong? Please help.    

i do not believe that you can do drivers door priority on a vehicle that did not have it from the factory, if you need to know how to do reverse polarity locks here you go... get two relays and in the drivers kick panel you will find a pink green and a pink yellow (if it does not have factory keyless otherwise they would be wht blk and wht red i believe) cut them. take one relay and put pins 85 and 87 to 12volt put pin 30 to the side of the pink yellow that goes to the back of the vehicle and put pin 87a to the other side of the pink yellow. to test tap pin 86 to ground. do the same for the pink green and you are all set

You can add driver's door priority to a vehicle that did not have it to begin with. You have to  hook up the driver's door unlock motor to the first unlock and then wire in the rest of the door unlock to the unlock wire. You will need several relays to do this because most vehicles have (+) type door lock motor wires.Jeff

Thanks guys for the quick and educated posts. I do have some tech sheets and they do say that the crew cab models are reverse polarity. Where would be the best place to buy these relays and do i need any special kind?

if you can get a DEI part number 451m...it saves you from wiring all those damn relay!

To Metz35 What exactly are you talking about? DEI part number 451m...

Here's a quick diagram showing you how to wire the relays. http://www.installz.com/wiringdiagrams/f350.gif You basically need 3 relays (30A 5 pin bosche style relays). Also, what kind of code keyless do you have? (model number?) You may not need any relays everything may be built in depending on which one your using..Let me know..

To now yak-now. It is a code systems keyless entry bought directly from a ford dealer for this truck. The ford part number is 2w7z-19a361-aa The only number i can find on the unit is h63db   The door lock wires on the truck rest at ground and the door lock wires on the unit are 12 volt when the key fob is pressed. So it just blows the fuse in the unit. thanks.

"ford part number is 2w7z-19a361-aa" Ok so you have the new PowerCode keyless entry. (The chip has a lightning bolt w/ a circle around it correct?) Also if you look at your module on the side the main harness is plugged in, you should see the main harness you have is plugged into the middle spot. The spots to the left and right of it are open. You need the 16-pin Extended function (C) harness that plugs into the left spot in order to accomplish what you need to do. (Look at your unit and let me know if all of this is accurate! Also if you look at the wiring diagram on the BACK of your module the C harness lists door lock and unlock switch inputs correct?) With that harness you can do the door locks and driver door priority on your truck withOUT the need for any relays. You still need to cut the wires in your truck in order to 5 wire them though. Did you receive an extra harness with the system that you are not using? I doubt it because they don't come with the system. I can get the other harness you need let me know if you want it for $10 shipping included in the US. Either getting the other harness or using the diagram I posted w/ the 3 relays is really your only options to get your locks working. Good luck, Mike
