Help! I bought one of these on ebay and the boneheaded seller neglected to tell me that the installation manual was not included. I managed to get it to the point of the engine cranking and starting, but immediately shuts off. I neeeeed an installation/operating manual. The owners book is virtually worthless.
Thanks!

Hey, I wasn't able to find a manual right off the bat, but I did find this. Looks like someone had a similiar question, and then the other links on that page are the responses. Hope that helps.

I also found something on Clifford's page. I guess it's the owner's manual. GO HERE

Thanks cpgoose, but I did already find that message from the old Yahoo groups. The wiring colors were spot on, and I have it hooked up, but it only runs with the starter cranking. As soon as the starter stops cranking the car starts. I am fairly certain I have it installed properly as I am replacing one that was already installed by me and was working right up to the point that my wife lost the transmitter!I also found the Clifford website page you referred me to but alas, that is just the owner's manual and I have that.
Thanks for the help!

Well, if it starts, and then shuts down, that makes me think of two things:
1. Tach. Maybe the tach wire isn't hooked up right? Or if it's installed for tachless, maybe it needs to be programmed for tach.
2. What kind of car is it? Do you have a system like PATS?

Yes, you are correct. I do not have a tach wire hooked up as it is coil on plug. 2000 Dakota. So I was thinking there was some setup to be a tachless system, again, needing installation manual as the owners manual does not cover this.
This vehicle does not have any key chip or transponder system.

Hmm....I would think that's your problem then. I've never had any luck with tachless...although I've only tried once. It started giving me problems, so I hooked up the tach.
I looked at a few wiring charts, and I see that the tach is BLACK/ gray at the ignition coil or at the PCM. I'm not sure where the PCM is in your truck, but you might be able to find it in an easy location, and then be able to use the tach hookup.
