Sounds like the person that recommended a new electrical system actually new what he was talking about, I agree with some of the posts above, the Audiobarn amp is a huge nasty monster with a very grand appetite. A new electrical systems starts with a high output alternator, maybe but not always a new or second battery and of course upgraded power / ground wire to handle the output from the new alternator. An amp can only produce if it given, if the recommended upgrades are not completed, well you can't hook a fire hose up to a water tap.

I would use the Audiobarn amp for starters. Imagine your vehicle being driven by two engines (generally a bad idea but when done properly....) 1 amp, 1 set of wiring, 1 gain control, 1 real estate parcel instead of 2 ..... Run the amp in 2 ohm stereo mode or in 1ohm bridged mono, most people probably would wire the latter. The amp price in Canada eh is about $1650 max. Good to hear that you want to support the local guy and want a good warranty, the audiobarn will deliver. Follow some of the links for alternators that the guys have provided, but be ready for sticker shock, Cdn - US conversion, GST, PST, Shipping, Brokerage fees, Customs..... but it needs to be done.

If I had one it would be at your door tomorrow, but if you call New Wave Distributing at 905-451-9767 (Audiobarn distributor in Canada), they will direct you to a local dealer in your area. Have a look also at the Orion 2500d before you settle in on this amp.

So, when do you want one? It doesn't take that long to get there.
