got subs/amp setup in bro-in-laws 03 envoy. everything went smooth except now he says the chime does'nt work. asked him if he checked fuses, and he said "not yet", but he does'nt really care if it works (nuisance to him.
just wonder if the install had anything to do with this condition (read something about this in old post once).
only tie in to factory unit was a line level converter after the factory amp and turn on lead tap. anybody?

pickup up a turn on at the fuse panel under the rear left seat. found one that would be hot on acc. and ign., but i don't remember which fuse it was. was a 25 amp fuse though. if you need to know i can look next time he comes over.

as far as the chimes go, newer chevys use the factory stereo to "play" the chimes. To retain this feature you must do one of 2 things, there is a "T" harness available that keeps th factory radio in the car (you can usually put it under a seat, in trunk etc...). also there is an adaptor that goes behind the dash that is really cool (but pricey) cause it gives you an acc turn on.

www.soundgate.com has a module called the GMCHIME which prevents you from having to relocate the radio. It will product the chimes and keep the BCM happy. It also monitors the class 2 bus and provides you with a switched 12volt output.

Go to www.crutchfield.com and go to car audio and video instalation. In the reciever instaltion category click on factory system integration. they should have it there. They also have onstar and bose integration interfaces I think.
