I have a crime stopper cs2011rs III in my 1999 Dodge Caravan and would like to get the defrost to work with the key fob. I was reading the book and the RED / green is the trunk output. It is a .5 -12volt pulse.
When I press the defrost button I hear a relay click in.
Can I run the RED / green wire right to the relay itself or do I need to tie in another relay to it.
Any ideas?
John

as far as i understand is that reardefrost uses a pulse to turn it on(push of momentary button).  so i would throw a meter on that trunk line if you have one and and see if it goes from 0v or what u said .5V to 12v for like a second and returns to that 0v or .5v.  If so, which i think it will then there you go, find your rear defrost switch wire and connect it on up!  Good Luck

I have a 1999 dodge caravan and want to use my Crimestopper cs2011 to turn on my rear defrost with the second channel.I found the relay that turns on the defrost. It has contacts on it numbered 85,86,87,87a and 30The coil is 85 and 86.I put a voltmeter on 85 and I get +12.14 with the drfrost off and +1.83 on.On 86 I get +12.15 all the time.So I guess I need to trigger 85, can I pull 85 right to ground?Or do I need just to drop it about 10 volts? The second channel of the crime stopper is a negitive outputDo I need a relay for it?
Thanks
John

very impossible and i dont know.....   i barely ever say something is impossible but i mean you will have to replace the defroster system with an aftermartet or something to get it to work, understand?
