What does it mean when you can hear the cars RPMs changing in the speakers when the car changes gears?

I know that's not a very good description but it's the best way I can describe it.

Thanks

it means you are getting "engine noise".  Find better grounding points for your head unit, and amps, , and it should eliminate the problem.

i had this same problem ... and alpineguy is prolly right on this one, i redid the rca's and got top of the line monster cable and that almost took away all the noise.... but i just got a 500 dollar alpine deck and that did the trick, got rid of 99% of the noise
