Can anyone tell me in their opinion and experience what is the best alarm for a truck. A 2004 Dodge Ram to be exact. Ive been looking at the viper 791xv and add motion detection for the truck bed but would greatly appreciate some input.

Any alarm which has the features you want and need, make sure it is upgradable such as window module, r/s, extra sensors. Dont waste your money on DEI, your paying for a name, they all come from Korea or Taiwan.

There all the same company, and are manufactured on the same assembly line as prestige and excalibur. Go with codealarm or something built here in the us.

I would like to get into this topic, I have a 04 Ram that has the remote door lock thing with the sentry key (gray) but no alarm, what are my options on getting an alarm and keeping the oem remote, I am not interested in remote start, just want to add an alarm
Thanks

DEI Immobilizer bypass:

Dodge, Ram Pickup, 2004

Required: YesPart#: 555C or 555UType: Sentry Key

Notes: Only vehicles with gray keys have the immobilizer.

youll have to have a second key that you can leave in the vehicle.  it goes inside the 555u bypass.
