Hi again,

My dad is planning on purchasing a used Chevy Silverado truck, either 2001 or 2002.  He asked me to put in a nice, quality system into it.  Nothing that will be heard two miles down the road, but he does appreciate a nice well rounded and balanced system.  So I decided to go with the factory radio if it has a CD player in it, and then replace all his speakers with Infinity Kappas.  I run them in my car, and I love them.  On his truck, the door speakers are 6 1/4, and the back are 6x9.  However, to finish off the package, I want to put in a small subwoofer.  I was looking at an Infinity Basslink, the self-powered subwoofer.  I've always wanted to install one of those, but I never had the chance.  I ran it by him and he thinks it's a great idea, but I just wanted to make sure before we go out and buy one.

Has anybody heard these puppies before?  How do they perform?  I'm looking for SQ more then SPL here.  What appeals to me is that I can just splice into the factory wiring harness, so it'll be a pretty neat setup.  Then all I have to do is flush mount it under the seat and she should sound pretty good, in theory... :)

Any comments/questions?  I do appreciate it.  Thanks.

The Basslink will be perfect for what you described above. The only draw back I see is the size of the basslink itself. I don’t know how serious he is about sq but if you want optimal SQ I would suggest that you replace the factory headunit. And add a good quality small amplifier for your mids and highs.
