O.K> I am totally baffled. Still trying to hook up this sony HU in my 2001 durango. The harness I bought fits, all wires are connected and taped, all connections are tight. There is no blue remote turn on or power antennae wire on the factory harness to connect. I have power and can receive radio stations. I am pretty sure it is not an infiniti system, there is no amp that I am aware of on the factory harness, there is however a white wire on the factory harness(5 plug) and not a wire on the store bought harness( I tried the blue remote and power anttenae wire on that didn't work) I am getting static sound and a popping like sound in time with the music at full volume and I can hear the music faintly, but not as loud as the static or popping ( and it is a cd that I am playing) the radio does the same thing. Anybody have any idea what the hell the problem is??

The positive and negative on your speaker wires are touching somewhere. I guarantee you that is the problem. Check whatever connections you made and make sure there not crossed.
