ok i got a viper alarm on my Jeep, i got a remote starter for christmas not made by Viper...its made by JL Troy. i dunno who here has ever heard of them but they make pretty good security products. but anyway, it operates of the 2nd channel of my viper alarm. so when i hold down the channel2 activation button on my viper remote for 3 seconds to remote start my Jeep. now the park lights come on and stay on when it is remote started but there is no siren ouput. my question is how could i make one? cause if i start it in the day...i may not be able to see the park lights come on and if i could hear the siren chirp...then i would know for sure that its been activated. i do have a negative while engine running output on the remote start. If i changed this constant output to a pulsed output by using a relay and a capicator...im just not sure which size cap to use for about a .5 second output cause i just want the siren to chirp once so i hear and know the remote start is activated. thanks in advance

It would be easier to install a mini strobe light into the front and rear turn signal lamps.

Or one that is mounted on the front windshield. One of our clients did the very same thing because he wanted to be able to visually see & confirm the vehicle's starting / running status.

He used the same strobe kits I use for police services. But no need to go that route, when you can use a cheap Walmart one for $12.99.

Just another option to consider.

That's very simple. If you use channel 2 on your viper alarm system to activate the Remote Starter. You can use the same wire to hook up a relay to the siren wire. You only need it to chirp once. You don't need any caps.

Here is the relay configuation:

Channel 2 wire from Viper alarm goes to Remote Starter Activation wire and goes to pin 85 on the relay

Pin 86 and pin 87 goes to constant power (12v+) fused 3amp

Pin 30 goes to siren wire (positive one) (Viper siren wire color BROWN)

Pin 87a not use

Most sirens draw 1.5 amp of current.

thats a good idea 10senese1 i should have thought of that...all i gotta do its diode isolate the split of my 2nd channel output...thanks
