I checked the tach wire(lt.GREEN/ black) at the ignitor on my 02 Toyota Tacoma pickup. Just checking out the tach setting on my DMM. For some reason the DMM only shows about half the rpms at idle that the tach in the instument cluster shows. My truck idles at about 700 rpm, but my meter only shows about 350-400? I have the DMM set on 6 Cylinder as that is what I have. It has an Ungo RS151 remote start that is hooked up to sense the tach wire at the ignitor. But I have noticed that it sounds like the starter may be staying engaged a second or so longer than it should when starting with the RS. My truck would sometimes not start on the first try when cold, so I increased the crank time from minimal to the next longer crank time. But shouldn't it stop cranking as soon as it sees power on the tach wire?

the reason it seem kinda low RPM is cause this wire is for one injector,  that means it is only seeing the tach for that cylinder. you are dealing with a 1 cyl tach signal.  This is fine though... should do the job..... as for the overcracnk.... make sure when you set tach that the engine is warm and idling the lowest possible.
