Help with Radio Dimmer problem

I think my mind qwas stuck in the wrong decade. I was wrong about the plug configuration for 96 models. I was thinking 86. Too little coffee. The wiring colors and operation is the same though. If you are getting varying voltage on the brown wire as you say, then something is definetly wrong in your lamp circuits. The voltage shouldn't vary more than half a volt on the brown wire. The grey wire is the one that responds to the dash dimmer. Sorry about the confusion on my part. sparky
