98 expedition 555F problem

Hello, I installed a 552t in a 98 expedition for a customer. Everything worked fine until it gets very cold. The problem seems to be the 555F does not work properly when it's very cold out. Of course this is the most important time for it to work. Has anybody heard of this or know any way to remedy it? Thanks Shaun

how is the 555f secured at the cylander? at cold temp is the ave letting go?

The 555f is hot glued right on the cylinder. It has always worked perfectly. I have had problems with this guy before. He tries to blame everything that goes wrong with the truck on me. I haven't actually seen that it doesn't work, but I was just checking to see if this was a common problem. He said that after either the temperature outside or the truck warms up it works fine, only a problem when it's cold. He also said that the theft light comes on when it doesn't work so it does seem like its a problem with the 555f.

the pelet gets cold and cannot transmit the code well. This happens to most transponders. There is not much you can do but one one thing is by using a 555u with a spare key inside (if u have one to give up) or you can always program a new key to the car i can show u how!!

or the pellet may have moved a bit on the cylinder maybe teh cold is coincidence!!
