I recently installed a new Crime Stopper alarm in my 300ZX, worked great for the first couple of weeks. Now when I set the alarm & walk away, 15-30 seconds later it beeps 3 or 4 times, flashing the lights with each beep. The alarm is armed & will go off if I force it.  Posibly connected, if the car doesn't start on the first turn of the key, on the second turn the alarm chirps?

Ideas?

Thanks!

When you shut the door and walkaway, does the dome light
stay on for a bit, and then shut off? Maybe (I'm guessing)
it's not hooked up to the right dome light wire,
and that's triggering the chirp in the alarm.

Dome light turns off, there's no factory delays in the system. Everything worked fine for the first couple of weeks, it's just the last couple of days?

thanks!

Did you check your sensors? Are they set too sensitive?

Has it rained or been very himide where you are ? Try and look at the hood trigger  connection or the door trigger to make sure that there is no condesation connecting the contacts together. Weather plays a large part in false alarms and if you are experiencing hot days and cool mights you may get false alarms.

cpgoose, what you described is exactly what mine is doing, also suspect that this the reason my door locks are intermittent, how does one go about finding the correct wire for the door trigger, apparently mine is miswired, although the installer said it is corretly wir

Well, I believe you can do it this way:  You'll have to find the correct wire that is unaffected by the delay in the domelight.

My car does not have a delay....but when I was told to look for the GREEN/ red wire, I found 3 of them next to each other.

I probed each one with the door open and with it closed.  The one I picked showed (-) only when the door was open.

I guess if I had a domelight delay, it wouldn't show anything if I shut the door, and the domelight was still on (delay)...therefore it's unaffected by it.

It always happens, rain, no rain, etc. I arm the alarm, it chirps once. moments later it chirps 4 more times & then it's quiet. I suspect the alarm is trying to tell me a zone isn't protected or something along those lines, but the manual doesn't tell me anything about that kind of thing?

There's no delay to the dome light, it turns off as soon as you close the door. Everything worked as designed the first couple of weeks, this is a new development..

Thanks!

I would try process of elimination...try removing certain sensors, and see what happens.  Try the hood pin like Velocity said.  Maybe disconnect it and see if still get the same problem.  If so, then try another sensor like the door pin switches.
