Hi I have bought a JBL 1200.1 recently
I have it to push a JL 12' W7, at 2ohm
I wired the amp as normal, I used the speaker level input so that the amp auto sense the singal and turn on by itself. Here is the problem, when I turned off the car the AMP dosen't turn off.
Well I assume there are line noise so used the 12V+ remote on and turn on the amp and TEST if it shuts off., (WITH both RCA and SPEAKER LEVEL Unplugged.)
The Amp turns on NORMAL, and when I take away the 12V+ signal., the AMP stays on and dosen't shut off.
i thoguth this is a defective amp, so I bought another and tried... Same thing happened. Can any one tell me what is wrong?
thanks

are you sure its still on? I used to think the same thing with my amp, turned out the little red light just takes a while to turn off on mine. Anyways, if thats not the case, make sure that your power wire isnt touching the rem connector. if it is, its gonna give the amp the 2 powers it needs to turn on. I dunno what else to tell you, but, good luck.

wait...

which 12+ signal are you talkin about? the power wire or the rem wire? can you be more detailed as to how you have your amp wired? I think you might have it connected wrong or something.

Some cars have random signals in the - speaker wires so they cannot be used with amps that turn on by sensing a signal.  This is relatively common on newer cars.  You may not be able to use that function.  I suspect the amp is fine.

here is a odd question, how are you going to run that amp at 2 ohm, when the w7 has dual 1.5 coils,   you can give the amp 3 ohm, or .75, or bridge to get 1.5?    so how 2?     unless you use a linear magnetic coupler
