I am looking at buying resin in bulk because I don't want to be ripped off everytime I have to buy a quart of "Auto" resin. I am looking at buying Boat resin, it comes with hardner, I am not sure if its the same stuff as auto resin. Here is a link to the resin I am looking at buying: http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productid=1394249&cp=1260993&parentPage=family , It seems like the same stuff. I am just looking for a confirmation on it being okay to use. Thanks in advance.

do you guys have body shop suppliers there, like finishmasters, or anything like that. if so they will sell everything you need. also you can look in places that sell boating stuff, or fiberglass suppliers too. a lot of places have branches all over the country.
also it is less costly if you are building enclosures or a a lot of things, to get the resin in 5 gallon buckets. and MEKP in quarts or gallons as well. take a look around. resin is only good for about 90 days from the date it was made. if you are getting it at home depot or places like that....you dont know how long it has been sitting on the shelf or in the warehouses.
you would be surprised at the difference fresh resin wil make.

There are places like that in my state, but I don't live in the Seattle area, so I would have to drive 100+ miles to the coast to find any boat shops, but I may do that.

It's very possible that the lady at Lowes is huffing the resin and keeping the supply for herself which would explain her being an ass. Suppliers to body shops usually carry resin and supplies.
