I have an Alpine MRV 1505

RMS - 14.4v

450 x 2 @2ohms

900 x 1 @4ohms bridged

Both produce 0.3 THD (eeeek!!!)

I have two Pioneer Premier TS-W125DVC (Dual 4 ohm each) subs rated at 400rms   - (same as Pioneer TS-W305DVC)

What would be optimal ? -  wiring each sub to its own channel @ 2 ohms     -      or wiring both subs to one channel @ 4 ohms bridged ?

Also if anyones familiar with the subs i have - (i know they are cheap, im broke :) will they have a problem handling that power?

what are pros and cons of each wiring setup, i.e... sound, longetivy of the subs/amp, over heating etc....

I appreciate any help you can give me

Ralphie

Put those Pioneers in individual small sealed enclosures (1.1 CUFT) and they will handle their rated 400 watts RMS.  Wire them at 8 ohms each in parallel to the bridged amp for a 4-ohm total load.  You should be fine.

I agree, but to clarify, wire each subs voice coils in series up to 8 ohms and then parrallel the ports from the single sealed enclosures down to 4 ohms into the amplifier, you'll be running a clean 900 Watts at 4 ohms and it should sound real nice, except for the 0.3 THD.

Like this correct?

Optimal setup with wiring -- posted image.

Also, would it be ok to build a bigger box and just run them with less power...for the fact i might want to upgrade in the future to a better setup but keep the same box
