I am about to embark on installing alarm systems in both mine and my wifes trucks. A lot of the features I am adding are requiring to be done with relays.

Where can I get them for a fair deal and also can I get plugs that go to the replay prongs with short lenths of wire comming off of them to attach to.

I found just the relays but no plugs at Radio Shack but they were over 6.00 and they only have 2 I need about 8 between both trucks.

i usually buy my stuff off of mouser.com and partsexpress.com. mouser is my neighboring city and it takes two days to get it, pretty quick.

I'd second Partsexpress.com if you want to deal with a big place. I get relays and POT's all the time from them. Great service, and cheap

Thanks fo the advice on parts express. I put an oder in online Sunday night. By 3:00 Monday I have a confirmation and UPS tracking # that my order had shipped.

One last question , What diode do I need to be using to isolate doors for instance?

1N4007 1A 1000V DIODE is what I ordered. Are those correct? That the only one in thier site that is close to what is mentioned here on the diode pages.

1N4001 is the most common size to use. that should work

The parts express web site says that 1n4001 is discontinued and refers to 1n4007. So that is an OK replacement ?
