Hi 12volt!

I'm going to install an alarm (MaxControl) in my Honda Accord Coupe 2.2i ES '95 and have some questions about the power door lock system. I searched the VWI and found the wire colors for Honda Accord '95 but I'm not sure it's the same for my car. I looked in my car for the "Door lock/unlock" wires but couldn't find them. If they are supposed to be near the steering column it will be hard because there are easily hundreds of wires (honestly, really!) going to Cruise Control, AC, ECU, and god knows what. I'm also a little afraid that I will do something bad with my Airbag. Anyway, I ripped open the driver door side and found som interesting wires there. More specific there is 5 wires going to the actuator and are as follows. One pink and one BLACK/ red wire that are alternating between 4volt and 0volt when I lock/unlock. When the pink has 4volt the BLACK/ red has 0volt. There are also one WHITE/ red and one yellow/red wire that is grounded and during lock/unlock there is a short positive puls (12volt, I think) coming on either of them. The fifth wire is a black one connected to ground.

Can someone tell me what type of Door Lock this is? Can someone give me any other information about installing in my Honda Accord Coupe? Has anyone read this far???

since you've already taken off your door panel, then you've also come across the 3 wires attached to the back of your pwr door lock switch. i can't remember the colour of them exactly, but you'll notice that one of them is a constant ground and the other 2 will switch to ground upon lock or unlock. just tap into these wires, or better yet, find them in the driver's kick and tap into them there.
i'm sure your alarm must have (-)negative door lock/unlock outputs, so just use those and it should be all good.

Thanks for the answear jimmeezgolfvr6, but! As far as I can see there is only a mechanical connection between the door lock switch and the actuator. I have forgotten to say that the car has keyless lock/unlock also. The 3 wires you are talking about makes me think about the 3 wires that goes from the keyless recevier that sits in the roof behind the rear view mirror. Can it be the same? Maybe I should go out and check these out tomorrow.

from what you've described, it sounds like your car originally didn't have factory pwr door locks, and someone has added in an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry system of some sort. that would imply that the door lock motors are not factory either, and there must be some form of relay mechanism controlling them. i'd suggest you remove the brain of whatever that has been installed already. who knows? it may already have been removed and the wires are just hanging there under the dash.
good luck!

I'm pretty sure the keyless lock is original because both the keyless recevier and the keyless control unit is made by Honda. Everything is also very tied up and no sign for modifications. Except the places where I have been =)

There is also an original immobilizer installed, but this shouldn't affect the doorlocks, right?

Tony, if this was an OEM keyless system, then there will be 3 wires attached to the switch on the door panel that controls the power door locks. Are there switches inside the door ? If what you are describing about the mechanical connection is correct, jimmeezgolfvr6 is correrct is saying that this is an aftermarket system that was added to the car. ALL Honda's that have OEM systems do not use actuators rather electric motors on the bottom of the door panel attached to the subframe of the window. The keyless entry system could have been an add on after the fact from Honda so you would get a remote control similiar to the OEM keyless remote controls.

Look at this diagram now for what you need to do to hook up to a 5 wire system: 5 Wire Alternating 12 Volts Positive Door Locks

Thanks everyone for the replies. I will grab my camera (tomorrow hopefully) and take some pics to make things a little more clear. I think the 5 wire thing is correct but still I feel a little confused. See u soon.
