i know almost everyone on here knows about how 2 break in a sub with a sound generator i was wondering if it was possible to just hook up a cd player or computer with the right freq playing and use that as a sound generator and if so where would i go to get this or how would i go about finding i... i have a sine sweep from 20k hz to 20hz i coulkd possible extract it from there.....

It's kinda fun hooking all this up to make one, although its kinda rigged.  I needed a 25 Hz test and found one as a download on a popular but controversial web forum.  It is an IASCA 25 Hz  tone.

Recorded it on a CD, then played it as a single track with the repeat button on.

I'll always try FREE first, if that don't work I'll negotiate!

so it does workk.... how long did u let it play.. and can u PM me this "controversial site" ive ben looking for a 30hz wave for like 30min

No problem.  IASCA has specific test tones, I found a 25Hz tone.  You might also want to read an earlier post under title 'breakin' for some good opinion on the matter.

But I was working with a DVC sub wired to 8 ohms, in the house.  I wouldn't have messed around like this if were a 4 ohm.

I mean the 4 ohm load wouldn't be compatible with my home equipment.

ahh i see...well i plan on burning the wave to a cd and playing it in my car...
