I am adding RCA outputs to my factory radio. I have everything hooked up correctly but my amp will only turn on when the remote lead wires are touching the 12volt battery wire. In other words my remote lead is not working. It must be hooked up wrong. Can any one give me the break down of radio wire colors, and or another spot a can splice my remote turn on lead that may be easier to get to?

Try using the pink wire off the back of the radio. This wire is the radio on circuit. If your radio doesn't have this wire then you will need to hook your amp's remote lead to a switched ignition wire off the ignition switch harness (thick brown) or if your truck has a sunroof find the wire that powers it. Install a fuse inline which ever one you hook it to. If you try the sunroof option your amp will remain on until a door is opened if thekey is turned off. (retained acc. power feed)
