I don't know if this is a stupid question, but here it goes anyway!. After you resin fleece on a subwoofer box, I realize you start glassing after the resin is cured and dry. But when you actually start the layers of glass, can you do one layer after another?. Or after one layer, do you need to wait for it to dry?. If you do need to wait for it to dry, how long usually do you wait in between layers?. And if you don't need to wait.. after building up 6..7..8 layers of chop matt, wouldn't it stay damp with that many layers??.

You do one layer after the other. If you wait for layers to dry then you can get air between layers easily. 6-8 layers, you should probably give it a day or two to cure.

Theoretically...  f/g would take the same time to cure whether it is an inch thick or a mm thick.... it does not need air to dry.... in fact, air causes it to cure slower. Just a little tidbit for ya. Lay it on as thick as you want it or you will just be wasting time and gaining air bubbles.  : )

ok cool.. layering the fleece without waiting will save me ALOT of time.

Another curing question.. the first step, when I resin the fleece.. generally, how long do you wait after you resin the fleece until you start your first layer of glass?.

Thanks for the help so far!

let the fleece dry completely before you start to layer on the fiberglass.  This gives you something rigid to lay the fiberglass on and makes it much easier to get the fiberglass going

also when you let the fleece dry it is not as heavy and will hold the right curves until dry.  Then you use mat to rienforce the shape

I know all that. I mean actual time wise to wait until I lay the glass. I'm assuming I need to wait for the resined fleece to dry before I lay down fiberglass.. correct?. Question is, how long is the standard wait time from when you finish resining the fleece, to laying down the glass?. hour?.. hours?.. overnight?..
