sony or pioneer i dont know cause i like the ability to hook up aux video im ust not sure if thats good enough reason to buy unreliable? sony

If you want a good deck with aux you can go with the Pioneer 9600 and just buy the adapter cable to hook up aux sources through the changer input. Unlike the last two people I absolutly hate alpine decks. I have one right now and I cant wait to get rid of it. I find they dont sound very good, and the actual voltage put out buy the alpine decks on the sub woofer preout is actually quite low when they are measured using real world frequencys. The pioneers preamp outputs arn't going to have much higher voltage (if they are) then the alpine's.

They rate them at a more realistic frequency and they do not clip near as quickly as the alpine decks do.double-secret reverse-osmosis speaker-cone-induced high-level interference distortion, Its a killer

They too measure their preout voltage at around 1000hz, and it too is peaking at that frequency and drops off across the balance of the frequency range, not as drastic as the Alpine or Kenwood's but still not as good as an Eclipse.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

i find it very interesting that they flipped the 8 and 9 series pioneers around.  I would rather have the 8*** now, vs the 8400 since the crossed them over...odd.....
