Custom Upholstery Interior

As you'll see in my other post, I'm customizing the whole inside of my Dodge Dakota.  I want to make a swade ceiling inside using the big huge plastic/cloth roof that's already in the truck.  I figure someone who does upholstery could get the swade material and just sew it together to make it look seemless and the top of my inside would look nice like the vehicles West Coast Customz customizes on MTV's Pimp My Ride.  Has anyone done this to their ride or had it done? If so, please give me as many details about how it was done and what materials/supplies were needed, their cost, and where to find them.  If it's not too hard to do, I'll do it myself.  If not, maybe I can buy everything I'll need and pay an upholstery person to do it for me.  Thanks in advance for any help, feedback, or ideas. I'm still looking for help and ideas.  Has anyone ever had their headlines done with swade or vinyl to have it match other parts of the truck?  If so, please give me any info you can.  Thanks! Plan, Research, Do

I redid my headliner in a 89 jeep cherokee.  All I did was removed the deadliner, and took off all the old saggy stained cloth.  Then I lightly sanded the cardboard to remove most of the glue.  Then I used a black fleece blankey I got at wallmart.  I used 3m ultra adhesive spray and both pieces.  I had two people hold the fleece above the headliner and started using a roller in the middle out to all edges.  It came out perfect.  I decided that I wanted to stich it .  So  I just used a carpet needle and thick black thread and did some custom stiching in it.  I did the stitches more because I didn't trust the glue.  I had the car for about 2 years and it never sagged.  I wish I had a picture to show you.  All in all it was pretty easy, but I would probably pay someone to do it next time.  You could save money by removing the headliner yourself and just bringing it to an uploster shop.  And then you would probably have some kind of warranty on it as well.
