i have an Alpine SEC-8028 in my car, and I was trying to add a trunk release, but I'm having some trouble figuring out the wiring.  the alarm harness has an EXT1 output signal wire, that goes to +0.6VDC for about a second when I press the remote button.  I thought that I just need to hook that to a relay to hook in the trunk release, but the relay does not respond.  is the voltage too low?  what is the correct wiring for this?

thanks for any help.

dave.

You might have to hold the trunk button for a few seconds rather than press it before it activates, see if that helps.

a single press activates EXT1, a press and hold activates the VALET mode.

similarly with the other button on the remote, a single press activates EXT2, and a press and hold activates EXT3.

i tried all three EXT hookups, but all do the same thing.
