alarm install how hard?

with a wiring diagram for the car and the alarm instructions..are they really that hard to do? or does anybody have any good tips?

For what car ? The Mustang ? Is is just a regular alarm or is it the 2 way alarm with remoet start >?Jeff

Asking alarm installers if its hard to install an alarm is kind of like asking a dentist if its hard to fill a cavity. Depends on what you know and your ability at the given task. The more experience you have, the easier it is to do. Some cars are easier than others, some alarms are easier than others. Also, the alarm becomes harder by adding extra accesories or sensors. Getting an alarm to mechanically work is not hard, but making the install so a thief can not find the alarm wiring and disable the alarm quickly is what is important. Experience comes into play with that.

Alarms are quite simple...until you get into the newer cars where you have to do more things to get it to properly function. But for the most part its simple.~The Rookie~

i did my first alarm install in a 93 4runner. alpine sec-8028, lock/unlock, domelight super., starterkill. took me about 3 days just to figure out the wiring, then it went kinda fast, about maybe 6 hours. i soldered everything though, and did some stuff with the radio (stays on untill i take the key out) and the headlights (turn off with the key out and buzzer goes off if switch is on w/o key in). I know i can do it faster now. just a matter of tapping into the right wires, and proper use of relays.

yea i did my mustang a few years back, and now im working at a shop and its kinda nerve racking to get into it, since in mine if i screwed up its my bad, out here its bad because its not my car, but im just wondering what the general census is on them. thanks.

At alarms I'm a novice as well. I did my first install on my old 87 ford cargo van using a black widow bw2150. I understood the wiring but I also installed power door lock actuators to have a keyless entry feature. Took me about 11 hours total to do. It really does depend on the vehicle and whats needed for that particular install and also how experienced the installer is.     Duane...
