I'm trying to install a 530t window module into a 99 bmw m3. I grabbed wires from the switch did the connections and it did not work. The windows woudn't move even if I pushed the button from the car. I'm sure I got the right wires because I used a multimeter. has anyone installed this into a bmw before? Am I suppose to grab the wires from somewhere else? Thanks

oh boy, it doesn't sound good if I am not mistaken (Hope I am wrong). Usually, if you finished hooking up a window module correctly, the factory window switches should still be able to control the windows because the relays are normally closed.

My suggestion is reconnecting all the winodw wires to how they were before and test to see if the power windows are still working. If they are, make sure you know which side is the motor side and which side is the switch side after disconnecting the wires. You can test it with a DDM. Let say you cut the driver side up window wire. After you cut it, use a DDM to test for +12V signal on both sides. The one that is showing +12V is your switch side. After the connection is made, put the fuse in for the window module and use your factory switch to test to see if the window is still working. If it is, take out the window module fuse and continue on wiht the next window until all the winodws are connected and tested. Lastly, ground the ground trigger wire in the window module and all your windows should roll up.

If all the windows are not working after you've reconnected to the factory state, good luck.

Let me know if anyone has any other suggestions or if I've made a wrong suggestion.

1999 BMW 3 series (Not sure if it's the same for M3)

Driver Window up: BLACK/ Red

Driver Window dn: Yellow/Blue

Pass. Window up: BLACK/ Green

Pass. Window dn: White

You don't need the 530T for this. All you have to do is extend your lock outputs and the windows will roll up and down from this, sunroof too if equipped.

Whats wrong with using the 530t???? And how do I extend the lock outputs. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try it out when I get home tomorrow.

Just wire some acc outputs from the alarm to the door lock and unlock wires, you may or may not need a relay. Then just activate the channel to roll the windows up or down.

omg...please reconnect those windows switches' wiring to its original state. hope you haven't damaged anything. listen to auex.....you need channels on your alarm that can either be set for timed output or at the very least continuous output for the duration that you activate the remote. if you only have pulse outputs, then you can use a PAC TR7 to change the pulses to timed outputs.

The reason your window may not roll up if you have broke the wire in the wrong place. If you have "one-touch" you can't get it at the switch. You have to between the window module, and the window motor. Hope that helps...Goodluck.
