I think i may have just smoked my BCM bc my locks dont work anymore! Any ideas anyone? I was trying to hook up my unlock wires and on my 2000 Grand Prix, it had 2 tan wires (1 = driver door, 1=pass door) and when i put those two wires together,,, no more locks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I assume that you seperated those two wires and checked for blown fuses? And what was your purpose of connecting those two wires?

Unfortunately for you the BCM for the doorlocks are also connected to the BCM for the lights, interior, and other functions of the car. The BCM costs $ 300.00 Canadian to replace and yes... I'm talking from experience here !!anyone familiar with BCM's?? -- posted image.

dayum... they cost $300 in Canada? Us they cost $115. I just priced them a little while ago. Wel, at least i got the alarm hooked up minus some minor bugs. The siren isnt sounding off if you pull the power for the alarm. I thought the Smart Siren was suppose to keep sounding in case a thief pulled the wires for the alarm???

Isn't there a 9 volt battery that you hook up the those sirens ? I'm not familiar with the Smart Sirens that you are referring to .

If you are talking about the Clifford smart siren, it knows what state it was last in when the main power is disconnected. So if the alarm was disarmed, then disconnecting the battery would not make the siren sound. And when you connect the battery up the siren will still not sound. But if the alarm was armed and you disconnect the battery, thats when it sounds.

go2pac, it is the smart siren. What i was wondering was ... the manual said that if someone trys to cut the power to the smart siren, it would keep going bc of the battery in it. I tried it, but it didnt work. I just read though that it charges only when the ignition is on, so its probably not charged up.
