kenwood kvt 715

Hi, i have the kenwood kvt 715 7'' touch screen dvd/cd unit. i've installed a few in-dash tv's in my time, and several cd players. but i can't figure this one out. It is on and everything seemed to be working fine. the radio works fine, all controls are working. how ever when i put a cd in , it shows that the disc is playing, but no sound comes out. also when i put a dvd in, it will play teh dvd, u can see the picture, but no sound. i'm completely puzzled! any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

more than likely your car has a factory amped system or you have an aftermarket amplified system.  Try switching the power ant wire behind the deck (blue), with the remote turn on wire (blue/white) and see if that makes a difference, if not then you may have a bad unit.  Just what I would try.  If you want to pm me with the car info, i'll see if there is anything else i can help with.

yea it has a factory amp, i never even thought about that! it's a 97 Ford Probe base model, factory amp and sub. so just switch the power ant wire and remote wire and that should fix it, if that's the problem? thanks alot!
