Never get a bandpass, they sound like crap. Ported is the way to true spl. And what the hell is your problem with honda?

every time you try to tell me that i don't know what i'm talking about you never have anything to back it up. you are the type of "specialist" that sees something in a car and then, having never done it, tells everyone all about how it's done. bandpass boxes that are sealed in the back kick ass. they hit higher freq's and don't go as low. but they will beat the piss out of a ported. if you don't seal one side the sub just sits there and vibrates. that sounds like serious poo. if you calculate the port right they can sound good, but you'll never hear them as far away as you would a properly built bandpass box, especially in a hatchback.

Auex is right, a ported box has many advantages over a bandpass. Sure a bandpass can play loud but only in a narrow band range, while a ported box can play loud over a much larger frequency range. A bandpass box also sounds very boomy, and uncontrolled, where as a ported box dosn't have perfect sound quality either, it is still much better compared to a bandpass. It's alot harder to make a bandpass box sound good also, compared to a ported box.
