Hi everyone, I have been in the market for a new 2 way alarm/remote start.  What I really whant is the feature that disarms the alarm and unlocks the doors as I near rhe car.  I found one "Performance Teknique ICBM-7071" this would be alright except I cant find any info about the company.  Does any one have any recomendations?  Are there any other systems that have this feature?  I would like to get a good system not a cheap off brand one.  Thanks in advance :)

I'll drink to that!

How about a Viper791 or the equivalent Clifford 3.5 RS?  They're both 2 way paging and have remote start on it.  I just finally got my Viper791 fully installed (minus the remote start) but I'm still trying to understand everything.....

I actually just didn't install it at all because in CA, I hear that if you have a manual then you're not supposed to have remote start.  Personally, I didn't install it because I heard that a lot of people have had problems with their car with the remote start installed so I just stayed away from it entirely.

jc18750, since you installed Matrix then maybe you can answer this question for me.  I had my Viper791 installed by a shop and everything works but when the hood goes off, the remote is indicating that the trunk has been breached, not the hood. So I called the shop and the guy said that the reason why that is is that both the trunk and the hood share the same line/connection. So even if the hood is breached, because there is only one line going in, it reads trunk on the remote. Is this true?  Since you installed a couple then you would know about the connections and how they enter in.  Thanks bro.

hood is a grey wire on a smaller wire harness with 6 wires. blue is the "multiplexed input" on the main harness. it reports trunk to the remote. he might have said that hood and trunk share the same connection because he hooked them together. bad install job. but there is a more detailed answer on the forum you originally posted for this question, i just left it. with a pic and link to a movie. hope this helps.
