k i have a rf hx2 rfd2212 dual 4 ohm sub in a sealed box with the right dimensions, and i ordered a rockford 501bd off ebay so that will be here soon. but until it does i have a rampage amp610 4 channel 500 watt amp that i have hooked uup to it...now the amp is only 4 ohm stable, and i have the sub wired into a 2 ohm load, and i have it connected to 1 channel of the amp with the gain up. now when i play it nothing really seems wrong, the s**t hits like i have a powerful amp hooked up to it. now ive had it like this for about 2 days, yesterday i had it on almost full blast for like an hour and a half cuz i drove to rochester (far!) and the amp doesnt even really heat up or anything, now im sort of confused about this because i dont care about the amp and i was sure i would blow it by just running one channel in 2 ohms with the gains all the way up, but it doesnt....

am i gonna mess something up doing this (mainly my speaker because i dont care about the amp, but the speaker does fine, no clipping or anything)

i dont feel like messing up my sub before my amp gets there so am i?

if the amplifier is clipping, then yes you can damage the speaker. If it is not clipping, then you can run it like that all year if you want to.

yea, underpowering does no damage, clipping on the otherhand...

now how exactly would i know if my amp was clipping?

Clipping sounds quite bad. If you hear some odd distortion, then it could be clipping.
