The power suplly is a piece inside the amp so rewiring would not help. I would suggest getting a diagnostic done by an authorized repair depot, may cost you 50 bucks but if the hiss bothers you thats probally whats gotta be done to find out the exact problem.

Okay, so today I was messing around with my amp and so forth and I realized that when my music is on, there's nothing coming out of my amp.  Dumb question but umm....music is supposed to come out of the amp right?   So then I go and check my subwoofer and I can BARELY hear anything coming out of that.  You guys have any idea what's going on?  Is my amp broken?  How about my sub?  :(

put a test speaker on the amp see if you get sound, if you have access to another amp substitute that (eliminate any other things) it still sounds like the amp is on it's last leg

It sure does sound like the amp needs to go to the old amplifiers home in the sky.  Music is not produced my the amplifier, an amp should make no noise at all. Use a test speaker like was suggested above. If this speaker does not work, then it's time to find a new amplifier.

Snakes, haha, right out of my book....

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Test speaker?  I don't have one of those....  Where do I get one?  Also, how would I hook it up to the amp?

Okay, there's 2 buttons: a red one and a green one.  The green one says protection and the red one says power level low input.  The red button is on...does that mean anything?

A lot of people that I've spoken with said that they think that the wiring is super bad and that I should try to rewire the power cable.  As my friend said, the people who installed it did a sh*tty job.  LOL  What do you guys think?

a test speaker is a speaker you kno that works (any speaker) and you can hoook up to the amp output for a very short amount of time to see if the amp works and is up to par.
