I installed an Option Group in my sisters 96 intrepid today.

Its any alright alarm I guess.  Anyway I cant get the door trigger to act right.  I hooked it up to the yellow (-) wire in the drivers kick panel.  When I unarm/unlock the system and open the door, the parking lights will flash on and off for 6-10 seconds then stop.  No siren or anything and I can still start the car, but the parking lights and some of the dash lights will blink for a few seconds.  It really has me stumped.  Everything else works great; starter kill works, lock / unlock, trunk pop, siren & parking lights flash with arm / disarm just fine.  If I leave the door trigger wire disconnect everything is fine, but of course nothing is protected and the self arm dont work.

Any ideas guys?  Bad brain?

Help me out,

   Brian

Are you waiting for the domelight to fade out before trying to arm the alarm? You can avoid this by tagging the tan(driver's door) and tan/red(passenger doors) and diode isolate them.

I got the same alarm. its doing the same thing. thats the way it is, it suppose to be a open door reminder. i think its an option that can be turned off. my problem is that i cant get into program mode to turn off the auto arm, the auto arm reminder, and the door open  reminder options. they are annoying. well the instructions say to put it in valet mode, click the the valet button 4 times until the led flashes quickly, i do that. well then it says to click on button 1 and 2 and i suppose to hear 3 chirps and go to program mode. well the alarm only chirps twice and goes out of program mode. i think there is something wrong with the instructions. im i doing something wrong?

can anyone help.

i have the same alarm, it does the same thing. its a close door reminder. its an option that can be turned off. my problem is that i cant get into the program mode to turn it off (its annoying to have lights flash evertime you get in and out of your car). the instructions say to get into valet mode, click on the valet buttons 4 times till the led blinks fast. i do that everything works fine. well then i suppose to click on button 1 and 2 together and get 3 chirps confirming its on program mode. well the alarm chirps twice and get out of programing mode. i think the instructions are wrong.

kinda figured out alarm. i dont know if my alarm is defective or they have typos in the manual. well to go into program mode, go into valet mode, click on the override button 4 times and then click on button 1 and 4 together (not 1 and 2 like the instructions say). to arm and disarm options press 3 to arm and 2 to disarm (not 1 and 2). i cant seem to go into the hijacker mode or the doom light supervision to 30 seconds. the alarm gets out of programing mode before i can even get to those options. i think my alarm is messed up, i just dont want to spend the money to ship it back !!
