i need to make a small platform about 7" wide by 7" deep, and i need it to slide horizonitally out 6", this base only needs to support less than 2 lbs. where can i get drawer slides that arent to expensive that will work for this? keep in mind im only using 1/2" to 3/4" mdf, so i dont need/want the slides to be very bulky

We get our slides from the local cabinet manufacturer's for about $ 45 per slide. These are high end slides that are easy glide and requires no oil or grease to make them slide. Super easy to install and well worth the money when it comes to putting in a sliding rack or whatever into the vehicle.

You also need to get the high end tracks as stated above, because cheap ones don't have tight clearances and are rattle traps.
