Don't know if anyone can help on this, but my girlfriend lost her remote on an older (1996) Viper 500+ alarm.   I didn't install this alarm originally and I don't normally use Viper, but since I don't want to have to install another alarm,   I'm thinking someone here can sell me the appropriate remote for this model.   Also does anyone have the installers manual (specifically programming mode) for this or know if it's on the web anywhere in PDF format or something?

For the remote, I'd check ebay.  Since it's sort-of older, you can probably find a replacement pretty cheap.

As for the manual, visit DEI's website at www.directed.com, and go to the GUIDES section, you'll find the owner's and installation manuals for that alarm.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
