Hi,

How would I "bypass" using the parking brake wire?? I want to be able to watch my LCD Sony XAV-7W while the car is driving..

(could I simply use the blue "on/off" wire and connect that to the light green "parking brake" wire.. and use that as the on/off)?

all you have to do is ground the parking break wire just give it a constant ground , thats all the unit is lookign for is the grounded signal comming from parking break once you ground that wire you can watch tv anytime.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

the ground would be any ground either direct chassis ground or you can splice the ground out of you harness, its up to you
