Hello Installers: I have a customer that wants the automatic sliding door for a Venture '99 to be controled by the alarm aux. (-) negative output, normally used for trunk release. Any idea?

I have not done this vehicle before but according to the directed tech sheet you should be able to tag the following wire. The question is whether a momentary ground will open the sliding door fully. Hopefully that is the case.

If not then you may need to either program the aux output for a latched output. This would require the customer to hit the aux button on the remote a second time to stop the ground from being applied. Keep in mind this could be dangerous if the customer does not stop the latched output, possibly burning out a motor. Maybe a better solution would be to use a pulse timer so when the pulse to open the door is received you can time the output for as long as is needed to open the door fully. most of those sliding doors just need a pulse to activate the function...example: when closed 1 pulse will trigger it open and you don't need to worry about burning a motor out because the van has a limit switch built in to prevent that.

then when the door is open the same pulse on the same wire will activate the close feature.

if you want to control 2 doors you need 2 aux channels.

it's in a square plug in the passenger kick, and if memory serves, it's in the top right corner.
