I have 4 fosgate punch XLC's and I was wondering, would I get the best of both worlds if I loaded two in a sealed enclosure and the other two in a ported? Or would that sound worse than just putting all four in the same type of enclosure?  I've got a SUV big enough for it.

Hey Stephen,

I am sure it has been before, but before you do this you should ask yourself what you want to acheive( spl/ s quality). By building these enlosures you have to go with different size boxes.

I do recommend if you do this that you have 2 amplifiers powering each pair because the ported enclosure will drowned out the sealed enclosure at the same power levels, this will allow you to set the gains of each pair to optimize each enclosure design.

good luck

Tcole
