I just bought my son a 2000 GMC Sonoma. The vehicle has a security system, I believe after market, that will not allow the vehicle to start unless the user has a small fob type device with him. The fob is black with a button that has the word "Identity" on it along with a thumb print. The button can be pushed and a small red light on the fob is activated, though this appears not to do anything. I can not find any info on this device, and the dealer could also offer no help. I'm looking to get a few more fobs as the 2 that came with it are not enough as we have 4 drivers in the house. I would appreciate any info that anyone has along with the name of this device. Attached is a picture of the fob. What is this security device -- posted image.

Check the truck's starter relay and see if it clicks when pushing the remote. Also, your pic don't work.

Yeah it looks like the audiovox unit. I only saw the prototype verion. What it is is a remote comtrolled relay. You take the old starter relay out of the power distribution block and put the audiovox unit in. It is simply a remote controlled relay. If you go to the audiovox website you should be able to get one. I am not sure how you would program it though, being as there are no buttons or wires to access a programming guide. You could also call tech support @ 800 371 7725.
