Hello,

I have already installed a Clifford xl-1000 in a 98 altima.  I am adding a bulldog shock sensor.  The alarm has one  - sensor input but the bulldog has 2 output wires, one for minor trigger and one for major trigger.  My question is do  I simply wire these together and do I need diodes?  Thanks.

You can only use one because one is the pre-warn and the other is the activation wire. If you wire the two together to the trigger wier of the Clifford, it will not be able to distinguish between the pre-warn and the activation iwre. So it will likely set the alarm off with both wires seeing that it can not tell the difference. Doesn't the Clifford already have the Magnetic Resonance Sensor for impact detection ? Anyway, if you want and additional impact sensor piggyback the ORANGE ttrigger wire (-) with the trigger wire of the Bulldog sensor and diode isolate one of the two trigger wires with the cathode band facing the alarm system.

Thanks Velocity,

This clifford is used and did not include the shock sensor.  I just finished installing it.  I used both wires and diode isolated them.  The only problem now is with the shock sensor itself.  It is nearly impossible to set it off.  If you bump the sensor it goes off, but you can't hit the vehicle hard enough to set it off.  I have it tied to a metal bracket under the dash now.  But, I also tried it tied to a group of wires.  Do you think it needs to be mounted directly to the frame for it to work right?

Yes, try to mount to the frame somewhere ( usually by the drivers kick panel there is a flat spot where you can mount the sensor ).
