Well i have just picked up a kicker kx 1200.1 and will be showing it a 2 ohm load for 600w and was wondering if the 4 awg power cable is enuf?

One other q., I found these amps on the web and the power specs are as follows.

600x1@2ohms

1200x1@1 ohm

Now this one ive got must be an older model cause it dosent look like the pics ive been seeing, What i need to know is do all the kx1200.1 amps share these same specs?

yes 4 ga. is big enough for the power you are running. As for the other question I'll let someone else that knows answer.

depending on the model of the amp, some are stable to 1 ohm some are only stable to 2

I have the newest kx1200.1 in my truck and have 4 ga. running to it and so far no problems. As far as I know , the kx1200.1 has been the same internaly for the last 2 or 3 years. Ive only seen cosmetic changes.

All my fuses are 30A in the block and near the battery,Should i go bigger?

Yes. The fuse in the power wire near the battery should be large enough to let through all the amperage the amplifiers will pull. You can put in a fuse that is rated a little larger than the combined amp fuses. The fuse for the distro block should also be just higher than the amplifier it feeds. Look at the fuses in the amplifier and add them up.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
