I am changing the external mirrors on my '96 yukon to an extendable trailering mirror.  I have also purchased the heated mirror even though my Yukon does not have heated mirrors.  I figured I can connect the heated to 12 volts somehow.  I would like to know how and where the stock GMC heated mirrors are connected.  Are they just connected to say the rear window defogger through a relay, or are they independant of the rear defogger?

Any information would be a help in deciding how to adapt the heated mirrors into my older Yukon.

Thanks,

Skip

you could always wire them up to a switch, then just simple flip it on or off

I "think" they are in the defog ckt. but wire them to a separate switch or try to relay them off of your defogger ckt. Get your +12v off of the white wire running next to the fuse box in the dash..
Good luck!
