Can anyone tell me where I can find either a switched 12v or 0v only present when the factory alarm is armed

Want to add ultrasonic unit to system but dont want to switch them on/off manually.

and why would a switched at the ignition harness not work?

Sorry my mistake not ultrasonic but microwave. The manual for the unit says connect to a switched supply from the alarm unit. I do not want to use an ignition switched supply because I have also built a small transmitter/receiver circuit to let me know in the house that the car alarm is set. The latter is for peice of mind knowing that the alarm is set without having to go outside in the rain to check.
