yeah, its a great sub all around. I've been impressed with MMATS for a long time, everything they got is good.I warn you though, you need a lot of space, and when i say a lot, i mean 4.5 cubes for each woofer minimum, so yeah they will crank out crazy db's and SPL numbers. SQ is good, just give it a clean amp like US Amps or the MMATS amp (Class G crazy)

i cant agree "there are the same" but, it seems marginal enough that in any case if you go with one or the other, you'll still be extremely satisfied.
for its application, my next sub probably would be the XXX, it seems to me, to be a stronger SPL hitter, and my next vehicle will be an SPL car, i figure i try each for what car audio has to offer, and then have some what of a well-rounded knowledge of what i want in a car. xxx brahma man, you cant go wrong.
stephen could probably get technical about it, and im sure i've read posts indicating which seems to be more SQ oriented and which seems to be the SPL sub of choice.
well that was long winded, good luck deciding, look for the better buy too if thats a concern.

The XXX has a little more throw and uses an 8 layer voice coil so it has a little more power handling.  It is a little harder to break than a Brahma because of this.

The Brahma has a lower inductance which gives it a better transient response and doesn't roll off as early on the high end, requires a smaller enclosure for a given alignment, and has a flatter frequency response.

Those are the technical differences that you would probably be able to hear when the subs are A/B'd right next to eachother.  However the differences are so small I think you would be very happy with either sub.  Since you are leaning more toward SPL, I'd recomend the XXX for you as it is a bit more of an SPL sub.  Good luck!

I would go with a RE XXX, Brahma, MMATS Jugernaut, or Digital Designs. All will get really loud, if you have the power. If you want opinions of people that are really into SPL, go check out the forums on termpro.com. Also watch some videos on realofexcurion.com, shows how much abuse some subs can go through.
